DC restaurants unite for, donate to help victims of Hurricane Harvey

Meals served August 31 to benefit Hurricane Harvey relief efforts

Restaurants are uniting to help the victims of Hurricane Harvey. Area restaurants in DC, Md. and Va. are coming together to support the hurricane victims as they donate a portion of the proceeds from meals served Thursday August 31, 2017 to relief efforts. The Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington (RAMW) announced that there are more than 70 restaurants participating and suggested that more are being added by the hour.

These efforts come just one month after local restaurateurs participated in DC’s largest award event, held by RAMW and its partners, for restaurant owners, professionals and employees. Now, celebration has turned to sympathy, and a sense of community and charity to help others has ensued. Traditionally, restaurants have been particularly sensitive to community needs and neighborly efforts.

How do you help Hurricane Harvey victims if you live in the DC area? Participating restaurants and RAMW are encouraging diners to support these charitable efforts by dining out August 31 at any of these restaurants:
