Krispy Kreme summer doughnuts include treats celebrating Independence Day
Krispy Kreme, with about 1400 stores globally, will be releasing limited-time doughnuts at its retail outlets. The new “summer desserts” include the Strawberries & Kreme Doughnut and the Banana Pudding Doughnut, both available starting June 20, 2018.
Strawberries & Kreme includes strawberry filling and a proprietary KREME filling, topped with strawberry icing and finished off with a swirl. The same KREME filling is blended with banana custard to create the filling for the Banana Pudding doughnut. It is then dipped in icing and sprinkled with Nilla® wafer pieces
In addition to the Krispy Kreme summer doughnuts selections, the chain will also release treats in honor of Independence Day 2018. The Freedom Ring Doughnut will feature the classic Original Krispy Kreme Glazed Doughnut decorated with red, white and blue icing drizzle and decorative sprinkles to reflect an image of the American flag in the spirit of the patriotic holiday. Krispy Kreme’s Chocolate Iced Doughnut is also decorated with red, white and blue sprinkles, and available between June 25 and July 4.
The remaining Krispy Kreme summer doughnuts—Strawberries & Kreme and Banana Pudding doughnuts—will be available while supplies last. “So much of summer is about fun-filled, carefree moments. Our new Strawberries & Kreme and Banana Pudding doughnuts were inspired by classic summer desserts…,” says Jackie Woodward, chief marketing officer of Winston-Salem-based Krispy Kreme Doughnuts.
