Sonic Drive-In introduces Classic, Spicy Footlong Philly Cheesesteak LTOs

QSR burger chain releases Spicy Footlong Philly Cheesesteak, with jalapeños and Baja sauce for heat

Sonic has introduced the new Classic and Spicy Footlong Philly cheesesteaks for a limited time. The Classic is a combination of grilled steak and onions, topped off with a cheese sauce and nestled in a fluffy bun. Those seeking more “heat,” will opt for the Spicy Footlong Philly with extra zing provided by the jalapeños and Baja sauce.

The October bid for Sonic Corp. by Inspire Brands, a subsidiary of Roark Capital, has been making headlines, but Sonic’s marketing and culinary teams have been business as usual, rolling out new menu items and LTOs to spur interest from customers and increase guest traffic.

“Bringing this iconic flavor to our famous bun allows our guests to take their taste buds on a trip, and if they want to turn up the heat, the Spicy Philly is a perfect choice,” said Scott Uehlein, Sonic vice president of product innovation and development, in an announcement.

The LTO, starting at $3.99, will be available until October 28, or while supplies last at participating locations.
