Elizabeth Baxter, Scott Hudler join Torchy’s Tacos executive team
Torchy’s Tacos is beefing up its executive team. The 60-unit chain has hired Scott Hudler and Elizabeth Baxter. Hudler will be Torchy’s Tacos chief marketing officer (CMO) and Baxter is the new chief people officer. Both executives come at a significant juncture in the growth of the fast-casual chain, operating in Colorado, Oklahoma and Texas, and with plans to open in new markets.
Hudler previously served as Dick’s Sporting Goods CMO after his role at Dunkin’ Brands as senior vice president and chief digital officer. He has over a decade of marketing and branding experience at Dunkin’. Additionally, at Mars Snackfood, Hudler held various positions, including brand manager. He has a bachelor’s degree in the fine arts from Valdosta State University.
Torchy’s Tacos new chief people officer role will be filled by a previous Walmart executive. Baxter, who spent seven years at Walmart, has experiences that range from recruitment to training and retention, and is well-suited for her new role. As chief people officer and part of Torchy’s Tacos executive team, she will oversee the departments of People, Talent and Training at the edgy, taco chain. Baxter holds a bachelor’s degree in integrated marketing communications from Wichita State University.
“Scott and Elizabeth bring the right blend of large company experience and entrepreneurial spirit that will help drive the brand through its next phase of growth,” said G.J. Hart, Torchy’s Tacos CEO, in a company announcement.
