S’Awesome Bacon, Barbecue, Peppercorn Mushroom Melt arrive
Wendy’s seeks to up the ante on QSR burgers by adding three new premium offerings. As part of the new, Made to Crave Cheeseburgers lineup, Wendy’s is introducing a trio of burgers in an effort to compete more effectively with upscale offerings from McDonald’s and Burger King. Wendy’s announced the S’Awesome Bacon Cheeseburger, Barbecue Cheeseburger and Peppercorn Mushroom Melt will be permanent additions to the menu in the Made to Crave launch.
- S’Awesome Bacon Cheeseburger is a fresh, never frozen beef patty, two slices of American cheese, three strips of sizzling Applewood smoked bacon, iceberg lettuce, sweet onions, pickles, and Wendy’s Side of proprietary S’Awesome sauce in a warm bun. Retail pricing for this Wendy’s Made to Crave selection is $5.29.
- Peppercorn Mushroom Melt adds sautéed, fire-roasted and seasoned mushrooms, crispy fried onions, a slice of natural Asiago cheese to a fresh, never frozen beef. Topped with a smoked peppercorn aioli, which is a savory sauce has notes of garlic, cracked pepper and a slight hint of mushrooms, the cheeseburger has a retail price of $5.29.
- Barbecue Cheeseburger: is a traditional cheeseburger, made with fresh, never frozen beef, two slices of American cheese, crispy fried onions, three juicy pickles, and topped with a sweet, smoky Kansas City-style barbecue sauce that is a nod to comfort food. This Made to Crave Barbecue Cheeseburger retails for $4.79.
“There’s a reason we named the new menu line, Made to Crave (Cheeseburgers),” said Kurt Kane, Wendy’s chief concept and marketing officer and executive vice president, in a Wendy’s Made to Crave announcement. “Because it’s true. These hamburgers are so undeniably good that Made to Crave is being integrated as part of our everyday menu.”
According to the Dublin, Ohio-based chain, suggested pricing and availability for Wendy’s Made to Crave Cheeseburgers could vary by location or market.
