Deeper integration sought between ezCater marketplace, Monkey Group software
ezCater has acquired Monkey Group, the company announced. Monkey Group consists of enterprise software the helps restaurants and caterers manage off-premises business. Restaurants are keen on growing takeout, delivery and catering. ezCater’s customers will have access to a Vancouver-founded software, training and insights company along with its developers. ezCater already has a sizable roster of customers in its catering marketplace that reach about 60,000.
Additionally, current customers of both ezCater and Monkey Group now have improved software integration and data flow between the marketplace application and the Monkey Group software. As ezCater acquires Monkey Group, ezCater clients, including Einstein Bros. Bagels, McAlister’s Deli, Moe’s Southwest Grill, and Schlotzsky’s, benefit from the deeper integration between the two solutions.
Monkey Soft continues with catering-focused brands
Furthermore, Monkey Soft Solutions, the new iteration of Monkey Group and its unsold remnants, will remain in Vancouver. Also, Monkey Soft will retain its proprietary brands, including MonkeyMedia Software, The Catering Institute and Off-Premise Insights.
“ezCater’s and Monkey Group’s strengths line up exceptionally well,” said Stefania Mallett, co-founder and chief executive at ezCater, after the Monkey Group acquisition. “Combining Monkey Group’s industry leading offerings with ezCater’s nationwide online marketplace, expert marketing engine, and API-first platform results in faster, more profitable growth for restaurants.”
As ezCater acquires Monkey Group, it looks to scale its advantages in the restaurant catering marketplace. In the past year, it has made some bold acquisitions, including GoCater, and retained more muscle among its executive ranks.
