New Digital Marketing VP tasked with growing customer loyalty
At El Pollo Loco, Brian Wallunas has been appointed to the newly-created role of vice president of Digital Marketing effective April 22. The new Digital Marketing VP has a robust technology background within foodservice businesses. The 480-unit El Pollo Loco chain is in the midst of a transformation plan, having hired Miguel Lozano as chief operating officer in March. Wallunas will head up digital strategy, and loyalty. Additionally, he is charged with growing the brand on all digital channels.
Most recently, Wallunas served as director of Marketing Technology at Coca-Cola, overseeing digital strategy and brand enhancement through digital media. Previously, he worked for Arby’s in the role of Digital Strategy director. Also, Wallunas grew new ordering channels at Domino’s Pizza as director of Digital Experience. Notably, he was on the team responsible for AI voice ordering and Domino’s AnyWare platform.

Initially, as El Pollo Loco Digital Marketing VP, Wallunas’ top charge is to increase customer brand loyalty. El Pollo Loco is at quick-service restaurant chain based in Costa Mesa, Calif.
