Greater Detroit restaurant is second unit outside rejuvenated city
BJ’s Restaurants opened a new restaurant in Sterling Heights, Mich. April 15. The new BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse sits on an exterior standalone plot of the Lakeside Mall, visible from Hall Road. The 230-seat restaurant is only the second BJ’s restaurant in the Detroit suburbs, and spans 7,500 square feet. BJ’s has an extensive beer collection and deep-dish pizza offering that is popular with guests, and it will offer a full menu there.
Having been invited to a soft opening of the Sterling Heights BJ’s, community members enjoyed complimentary food and participated in a voluntary donation to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. BJ’s works with the foundation, currently. Additionally, the 204-unit casual-dining chain donated proceeds from alcohol sales to the BJ’s Restaurants Foundation.
“Sterling Heights joins our two successful Michigan restaurants in Livonia and Taylor. Our 2019 restaurant pipeline is in excellent shape…” said Greg Trojan, BJ’s chief executive, in the announcement.
Huntington Beach, Calif.-based BJ’s will open its next restaurant in Toms River, N.J., according to Trojan. BJ’s Restaurants also operates Michigan units in Livonia and Taylor. The Sterling Heights BJ’s will operate Sunday-Thursday, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 midnight, and Friday-Saturday, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m.
