BJ’s opens first Connecticut restaurant in Buckland Hills

Manchester, Conn. is fourth BJ’s opening in 2019

BJ’s opened a new restaurant and brewhouse in The Shoppes at Buckland Hills in Manchester, Conn. The new, Buckland Hills BJ’s—its first in Connecticut—spans nearly 7,500 square feet and seats 230 guests. Familiar favorites, including deep-dish pizza, craft beer and the Pizookie Dessert, are featured on the local menu.

Based in Huntington Beach, Calif., the restaurant chain offers traditional entrees, like prime rib, and the BJ’s Enlightened Entrees collection. Guests will find lighter selections on the popular Enlightened menu, including Cherry Chipotle Glazed Salmon and Fire Roasted Barbacoa.

Also, BJ’s treated members of the community to complimentary food during the Buckland Hills BJ’s soft opening. At the celebration, guests were able to volunteer donations to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Additionally, BJ’s donated the purchase of beer, wine and spirits from the event to the charity.

“Our Manchester restaurant is our first restaurant in the state of Connecticut and our fourth new restaurant opened this year,” said Greg Trojan, president and chief executive of BJ’s Restaurants. “We look forward to opening more restaurants in the Connecticut market over the next several years, as we continue our national expansion.”

According to Trojan, the next BJ’s opening will take place in Evansville, Ind. The 206-unit casual-dining chain has slated that opening for late Q3.
