Winsight management changes in media, consulting announced

Young, Reisenberg, tapped to head high-growth businesses

Winsight management changes bring new media and consulting heads to the leading information services organization. Winsight, which covers the foodservice, convenience retailer and grocery industries, named Kurt Reisenberg its president. In the newly-created position, he will manage the Media & Events businesses. Furthermore, Winsight appointed Alanna Young, former chief operating officer, to head its wholly-owned foodservice consultancy, Technomic. In her role as Technomic president, she’ll help ignite the next chapter for the research and strategic consulting firm.

Chicago-based Winsight acquired Technomic in 2015. Darren Tristano was Technomic president until 2018. That year, Tristano moved on to start and head Foodservice Results Consulting.

Reisenberg previously served as SVP, Global Business Sales at Gartner. In that capacity, he oversaw Corporate Executive Board (CEB), which Gartner acquired in 2017. Through its access-to-insights fee model, Reisenberg increased revenues of the innovative subscription model from $15M to $1B during his tenure as senior executive of CEB. As of September 3, he will join Winsight and report to Mike Wood, Winsight chief executive.

“Kurt is a proven business builder and inspirational leader who will focus on fostering integration among our divisions,” said Wood in an announcement.

Winsight management changes deliver new Technomic president

Young joined Winsight four years ago and has already made her mark on the company. As chief operating officer, she developed the data business for Winsight and spent time on Technomic, after its acquisition by Winsight. Additionally, Young also oversaw Winsight media and event properties. Previously, she served at Hanley-Wood’s real estate information firm, Metrostudy. There, she managed research and member services for 12 years.

“She (Young) has terrific leadership and communication skills, is well-versed in product and technology, and has a true passion for the Technomic business,” said Wood. “She is the perfect person to lead that business forward as we explore new growth avenues.”
