Quick-serves tap fall flavors in seasonal returns, including PSL
Starbucks released a new, Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew and its much-coveted Pumpkin Spice Latte (PSL). The new items and fall 2019 flavors signal it’s fall, or at least that fall is declared, as Starbucks announced. Starbucks also brought back additional seasonal favorites, including the Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin, Pumpkin Scone, and Pumpkin Spice Madeleines. The Salted Caramel Coffee also returned—all items available as of August 27.
Bruegger’s Bagels heads into some pumpkin action of its own with a kettle-boiled Pumpkin Bagel and Pumpkin Cream Cheese. The latter is made with pumpkin puree, a creamy, pie-like creation. Additionally, the Burlington, Vt.-based chain rolled out Pumpkin Spice Coffee.
Also, Baskin-Robbins unveiled a seasonal flavor, Pumpkin Cheesecake. The selection combines pumpkin and cheesecake-flavored ice cream with bits of ginger snap cookies and a “ribbon” of cinnamon cream cheese. The decadent creation accompanies other treats, including the Cappuccino Blast, an iced coffee that mixes milk, 100-percent Arabica Coffee and a choice of ice cream and cinnamon garnish.
In addition, Bruegger’s is promoting the Cappuccino Blast with a free sampling promotion being held September 8, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Starbucks’ annual PSL rollout arrived with much fanfare and the traditional hashtag #PSL. The new, Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew is also sure to get a lot of fan attention. Starbucks mixes its Cold Brew with vanilla and then tops it with pumpkin cream cold foam. Then, it finishes it with a light, pumpkin spice “dusting.”
The introduction of seasonal items featuring fall 2019 flavors, especially Pumpkin, seem to arrive earlier and earlier each year, and more chains are getting in early on the excitement.
