Houlihan’s taps DoorDash for delivery in all corporate markets

Phased Doordash delivery of Houlihan’s begins in Chicago area

Houlihan’s has partnered with DoorDash for delivery in all of its corporate markets. The 62-unit, polished casual-dining chain announced the third-party deal, saying it wanted to make it easy for guests to enjoy Houlihan’s classics. DoorDash delivery of Houlihan’s food brings the Famous ‘Shrooms, the Char-crusted Ahi Tuna Salad or the Kansas City Burger to customers’ doors.

Delivery in all corporate markets starts September 16. Also, customers can order delivery at Houlihans.com in addition to the DoorDash app. “We are in the hospitality business where we want to ensure our guests are receiving the best experience possible,” said Bill Leibengood, chief marketing officer for Houlihan’s Restaurants.

The agreement for DoorDash delivery of Houlihan’s food provides for a tight delivery radius so the chain executes on delivering food in a timely manner. Thermal bags and carriers are additional steps to keep food at the proper temperatures. DoorDash is entrusted with these operational measures.

Houlihan’s expands delivery after a successful test that was conducted with DoorDash in trial markets. These included New Jersey, New York (Long Island) and Kansas City. As a phased rollout, delivery will expand to Chicago area (Naperville, Orland Park, Wheaton, Geneva, Algonquin) September 4. Then, the balance of corporate markets commence September 16.

There may be franchise markets located outside of the corporate launch territory. Nevertheless, Leibengood said Houlihan’s will continue to work with franchise partners in the outlying areas for inclusion. Also, Houlihan’s corporate markets that begin delivering September 16 include Dallas/Ft. Worth (Addison, Garland, Ft. Worth), San Antonio/Live Oak, Grand Rapids, Lansing, Columbus/Upper Arlington, Cleveland, Pittsburgh and Indianapolis.

Based in Leawood, Kan., the company manages and franchises 62 Houlihan’s Restaurant + Bar locations. What’s more, restaurants operate primarily in the Midwest and Northeast United States.
