Famous Dave’s to unveil new prototype in Uptown Minneapolis

In Uptown Minneapolis, a new Famous Dave’s prototype rolls out this year. It’s an evolving, smaller footprint store that reflects a more compact design, with condensed bar and dining areas. The unveiling will occur in the last calendar quarter of the year. The Uptown Minneapolis store is moving to 800 West Lake Street.

The new Famous Dave’s prototype is built in bar-centric fashion and presents a dining area that features community tables. The menu revamp will include what the chain calls shareable finger foods and handheld items. In addition, the BBQ franchise will offer a selection of cocktails, mocktails and fresh beverages. Famous Dave’s guests will appreciate the free parking offered at this upcoming Lake Street store.

The Minnetonka, Minn.-based chain also focuses this design on a greater share of delivery and catering business. “The new Minneapolis location is part of an effort to give our customers more of what they want, when they want it, and continue to address their needs whether that be dining in our restaurant or enjoying our award-winning BBQ in the comfort of their own homes,” said Jeff Crivello, Famous Dave’s chief executive.

With the new Famous Dave’s prototype, the BBQ concept is evolving. Additionally, Famous Dave’s announced a partnership this year to expand its menu. It selected Beyond Meat to make plant-based proteins available to its guests.
