A best-selling breakfast sandwich goes beyond test phase
The Dunkin’ Beyond Breakfast Sausage, with 10 grams of protein, rolls out nationwide November 6. A successful test propelled the breakfast sandwich to become a top-seller at Dunkin’. Dunkin’ is diving deep into the plant-based meat alternative movement with its Beyond Meat collaboration. The Dunkin’ Beyond Breakfast Sausage patty is served with an egg in an English Muffin.
To develop the Dunkin’ Beyond Breakfast Sausage sandwich, the QSR breakfast chain partnered with Beyond Meat. The plant-forward food company’s breakfast sausage patty combines 100-percent plant-based protein with a mix of spices formulated just for Dunkin’.
Also, the Beyond Sausage Sandwich contains 29 percent less fat than its traditional counterpart. In addition, it serves up 33 percent less saturated fat and fewer sodium, calories and cholesterol than Dunkin’s Breakfast Sausage. Dunkin’ guests can sample the plant-based, morning daypart addition November 8-9 at U.S. stores. The free, sampling event takes place between the hours of 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. while supplies last.
