Wingstop enters France with Toulon store opening

France marks 9th international market for Wingstop

Wingstop enters France with its opening in Toulon. Its relationship with Brescia Investissement SAS has made the first French Wingstop a reality. The Wingstop store at 28 Avenue Ste Claire, 83160 La Valette-du-Var opened November 20. Wingstop and Brescia have also agreed on an impressive goal to open 75 Wingstop stores in France over the next decade.

The fast-casual chain brings its original offerings to this new market. Made-to-order wings, tenders and wraps will feature prominently on the menu. Wingstop associates will also use Bluetooth location technology to bring orders to tables efficiently. Additionally, guests can select from two locally-inspired sauces. They can choose from Golden Mustard and a French twist on Garlic Parmesan that includes Herb de Provence.

As Wingstop enters France, the Dallas-based chain marks its ninth international country presence. “We are especially excited about France, as it is one of the largest consumer markets in Europe and emphasizes our foray into the continent following the successful launch of our UK partnership just last year,” said Nicolas Boudet, president of international at Wingstop in a statement.

Furthermore, Brescia has deep expertise in the French market. It has operated McDonald’s restaurants in the Marseille area. It also opened its first Carl’s Jr. store in France very recently.

Founded in 1994, Wingstop now operates and franchises 1,300 restaurants in the U.S. and worldwide. In addition, in 2018, Wingstop increased its sales 16 percent from the prior year to $1.3 billion. Also, since 2015, shareholders have received a 290-percent return since its 2015 IPO, reported the company.
