Eleventh largest state in number of breweries to host CBC 2020
Billed as the largest gathering within the craft brewing industry, the Craft Brewers Conference 2020 (CBC 2020) takes place next year at the Henry B. González Convention Center, centrally located in historic downtown San Antonio. CBC 2020, set for April 19-22, will have several learning and experiential components. Moreover, a focal point of CBC 2020 is “The Business of Beer”. Attendees will have an opportunity to “delve into the economic impact these small and independent brewers are having on our country, what’s next for the craft brewing community and more,” noted the CBC online profile.
Attendees will also have an opportunity to learn about trends, tools and technologies. In addition, the latest in brewing science and scope will unfold at the San Antonio conference next year. CBC 2020 also provides an opportunity to explore the various styles and science. Amid various categories, attendees will also “explore the science behind the styles by scratching and sniffing new and experimental hops, or taking a look at healthy yeast strains, which are vital for flavor consistency in beer.”
A focus on Texas’ contribution
As CBC 2020 gathers in San Antonio, attendees will take a deeper dive into Texas’ role in craft beer. According to the Brewers Association, “Craft brewers in Texas produced more than 1.1 million barrels of beer and contributed more than $5 billion to the economy (3rd in the country) in 2018. Texas ranks 11th in the nation for the number of breweries (283 as of 3/1/19) and is considered a hotbed for growth in the craft brewing industry.”
Attendees will also have an opportunity to explore the city of San Antonio with fellow colleagues and craft beer aficionados. More information about the Craft Brewers Conference 2020 is available on its website.
