Three protein-rich, almond butter smoothies form LTO menu
Planet Smoothie rolled out limited-time almond butter smoothies. Three smoothies that are antioxidant rich and high in protein make up the Nuts About Almond Butter lineup, launched December 30. For example, The Muscle Up Buttercup provides 29 grams of protein in a 22-ounce portion. The smoothie packs a blend of almond butter, cocoa, bananas, nonfat frozen yogurt, vanilla, whey protein and a dash of sea salt.
In addition to the Muscle Up Buttercup, Planet Smoothie also rolled out the Almond Berry Blast, prepared with almond butter, blueberries, strawberries, bananas, whole grain oats, and vanilla. Also promoted, the Almond Mocha Jolt features a creamy blend of almond butter, coffee, cocoa, bananas, nonfat frozen yogurt, and nonfat milk.
“Almond butter boasts heart healthy fats along with other great health benefits,” said Nicole Butcher, director of marketing at Planet Smoothie parent Kahala Brands. She also suggested the Planet Smoothie Nuts About Almond Butter lineup is timely for New Year’s resolutions.
Planet Smoothie franchises 140 locations in 20 states. Kahala Brands, part of MTY Food Group, acquired the chain in 2015 and boasts a portfolio of 3,000 stores across 29 quick-service brands.
