LTO features plant-based Beyond Beef on tacos, enchiladas, Stacked Nachos
On the Border Mexican Grill & Cantina partnered with Beyond Meat to offer plant-based tacos starting January 6. According to the chain, it became the first Mexican-style casual-dining chain to offer tacos made with meatless Beyond Beef. The new, On the Border Beyond Beef Tacos are seasoned in the same manner as the chain’s beef tacos. Guests who swap Beyond Beef for other proteins in their enchiladas or Stacked Nachos, can do so for an upgrade charge of $2.
Beyond Beef Tacos at On the Border feature seasoned, plant-based protein with shredded cheese, lettuce and house-made pico de gallo. “Guests are incorporating more plant-based protein options into their diet and we want to meet their needs with the same bold border-style flavors,” said Edithann Ramey, chief marketing officer for On The Border. “Now everyone can have the same On The Border experience of an ice-cold margarita and bold border-style flavors with endless rounds of our guests’ favorite tacos!”
Dallas-based On the Border offers the limited-time Beyond Beef Tacos through March 8. In addition, guests can choose Beyond Beef when participating in the Endless Taco promotion. On the Border operates 150 restaurants in the United States and Asia.
