sbe to give preference to its own furloughed workers
sbe has begun hiring for its C3 ghost kitchen projects, becoming, perhaps, one of the most optimistic hospitality companies in the United States amid the current health crisis. 1,000 new jobs help fill an emerging need to support its food-hall concepts and virtual kitchens in major markets. The positions include tracks in digital marketing, accounting, finance, development, construction, and operations. sbe’s C3,, which is a joint venture with Accor and Simon Properties, will lead to renewed hospitality-generated economic activity in New York City, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Miami, and San Francisco.
As part of a strategic push, sbe is hiring for half of these new positions in Los Angeles. “I’m proud that sbe has built a business and strategy that took into account situations like this (current COVID-19 health crisis),” said Sam Nazarian, sbe founder and chief executive. These jobs will deliver a steady paycheck and job security to talented and hardworking team members that we will welcome to our tribe. As this crisis disrupts normal patterns of dining and consumption.”
“While sbe has maintained full employment for the majority of its corporate workforce, the company will be giving priority to employees that have been furloughed from other sbe restaurants and nightlife brands, but actively encourages all interested individuals to apply,” said the company in an announcement.
In addition, sbe’s partnership with Accor and Simon Properties will bring new and standout concepts through its deployment of ghost kitchens and mobile delivery, launched earlier this year. C3 acts as an incubator of quick-service culinary brands. In February, C3 announced Citizens, a 40,000 square-foot culinary collection by designer David Rockwell in Manhattan West,
