Qdoba Mexican Eats to open restaurant in hometown of San Diego
New Qdoba store will add 30 jobs near its corporate office
Qdoba Mexican Eats will open a 2,400-square-foot restaurant in Mission Valley, near its home office in San Diego. The fall 2020 opening will help the fast-casual chain generate 30 new jobs in the area. Surprisingly, with over 730 locations, Qdoba’s newest store will be its first in San Diego. The restaurant chain moved its corporate office from Denver to San Diego back in 2015.
Qdoba offers free guacamole or three-cheese queso on its entrees, which sets its apart from other Mexican-style chains. The San Diego-based chain has continued to follow a path of innovation, which experts say is necessary to stay competitive in the current pandemic. Qdoba added Impossible meatless substitute in the spring after a successful test and introduced a Pork and Queso Burrito last fall.
“At Qdoba, we stand for flavor and we are excited to bring some extra flavor to Mission Valley.”said Keith Guilbault, Qdoba chief executive. The San Diego restaurant will be located in Park Valley Center next to the Mission Valley Center Trolley Station.
