Outback Steakhouse parent promotes Sheilina Henry to group VP, Diversity and Inclusion
Company veteran to build equality, inclusion within organization
Bloomin’ Brands promoted Sheilina Henry to group vice president, Diversity and Inclusion. The restaurant company, parent of Outback Steakhouse, Carrabba’s Italian Grill, Bonefish Grill and Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar, created this new position to lead diversity efforts.
Henry will work toward the goal of building equality and inclusion in the “areas of leadership, talent, training, and education,” stated a company announcement. Bloomin’ Brands also tapped her to lead the Bloomin’ Brands Diversity and Inclusion Council to advise on strategy in the areas of diversity, equality and inclusion among the company’s key stakeholders, including employees, customers, suppliers, and communities
“Sheilina is a talented, passionate, and respected leader with extensive operations experience who will guide our efforts to reflect the diversity of the communities we serve at all levels within our company,” said David Deno, chief executive of Bloomin’ Brands.
Having worked at the restaurant company for over two decades in operations, training and project management, Henry is a proven and effective leader within the organization. After joining Bloomin’ Brands in 2012, she received a promotion to serve as VP, Training & Development in 2016 and regional VP in 2019. Prior to joining Bloomin’ Brands, Henry held several operational and training positions at Yum Brands.
