Collaboration with Nocking Points offers at-home ‘steak + wine’ experience
Carl’s Jr. added a new Steakhouse Angus Thickburger to the menu. The quick-service sandwich chain is touting the burger as a “steakhouse dinner experience.” Carl’s Jr. Steakhouse Angus Thickburger features an all-beef Angus patty seasoned with steak seasoning and topped with A1 Thick & Hearty Steak Sauce, two crispy bacon strips, melted Swiss cheese, tomato, red onion, and mayonnaise on a bun.
In a burger twist, guests can opt for a new pairing of Thickburger and wine in the limited-edition Carl’s Jr. x Nocking Point Wines Steakhouse Burger Box. Katie Owen, Nocking Point Wines sommelier, and Owen Klein, CKE VP of Culinary Innovation and Chef, crafted the curated collection. They say the wines complement the Thickburger’s Angus patty flavor and A1 Thick & Hearty Steak Sauce.
“With the world continuously changing, we know our customers are looking for familiar, craveable flavors and experiences like a steakhouse dinner, which is why we are excited to introduce the Carl’s Jr. interpretation of this experience with our partnership with Nocking Point Wines and our new Steakhouse Angus Thickburger,” said Klein.
Each Carl’s Jr. x Nocking Point Wines Steakhouse Burger Box, available at NockingPointWines.com, comes with the following:
- One bottle of Nocking Point Wines’ 2017 Amell-bec Malbec,
- One bottle of 2017 Turnaround Red
- One bottle of 2016 Year VII Cabernet Sauvignon/Syrah Blend
- A Carl’s Jr. gift card to purchase a Thickburger for pickup or drive-thru
- Custom “Steakhouse” recipes curated by Chef Owen to prepare at home
The collaboration between Carl’s Jr. and Nocking Point Wines further emphasizes the chain’s message that the Thickburger is an upscale, premium item and experience. The Steakhouse Angus Thickburger retails for $6.49 as a permanent addition to the menu.
