Teriyaki Madness plans big expansion with Wisconsin, Brookfield restaurant opening

New agreement to lead to five locations in the state, one in Illinois

Teriyaki Madness plans to expand to Wisconsin in a big way. The Denver-based chain will open at 920 South Moorland Road in Brookfield in mid-September. Additional locations will debut in Hales Corners, Wauwatosa, Germantown, and Pewaukee. In Illinois a Rolling Meadows restaurant will be unveiled later this year. The fast casual creates Teriyaki-style bowls prepared with all-natural marinated chicken, steak, salmon or tofu, stir-fried veggies, and served atop steamed white, brown or fried rice, or alternately Yakisoba noodles.

Restaurant Sherpas a differentiated approach to franchising

FirstPathway Partners will serve as the territory developer. Restaurant Sherpas, a Teriyaki Madness will work with the franchisee, as well as additional franchise partners across the country, to establish successful operations. Restaurant Sherpas works as a full-service restaurant management company. The firm offers an alternative to franchise partner managing the day-to-day operations of Teriyaki Madness restaurants.

As a company that’s also invested in Hilton, Marriott and Kimpton hotels, FirstPathway Partners established a reputation for creating local jobs as it expanded its enterprise in the hospitality sector. Jared Bellis will oversee operations of the Teriyaki Madness in Brookfield, Wisconsin as general manager. He has more than 20 years of restaurant experience, gained from working for chains that include Buffalo Wild Wings, Portillo’s and Shake Shack.

“The Milwaukee area is a perfect fit for Teriyaki Madness, because there’s just nothing like it here,” said General Manager Bellis, “There is a huge demand here for fast casual restaurants that cater to different appetites and diets.”

Teriyaki Madness plans a few days of promotion for the Brookfield opening. From September 16-18, in-store customers can take advantage of $5 Junior and Regular Chicken Teriyaki Bowls.

On September 17, the chain will hold its Grand Opening Celebration. In honor of the festivities, customers that plan an order through the fast casual’s TMAD app between September 16-22 can win free Teriyaki Madness for one year or one month. Five customers will win the free offer for one year and 20 winners will enjoy the one-month free offer.

September 19 will see the Brookfield Teriyaki Madness hold a charity event. $1.00 from every regular bowl order will be donated to Stars Hockey that day. Teriyaki Madness partnered with Stars Hockey to support youth and school activities as many games have been cancelled due to COVID-19.

Executives attribute a 17 percent year-over-year sales increase to the technology that powers the TMAD app and ordering integration with the app and third-party sites. Operational excellence and a robust focus on delivery, with cut-above packaging and procedures to help food travel well and stay hot, have also been helpful, notes the chain.
