Former associates to open milestone Kissimmee store
Marco’s Pizza plans the opening of its 1000th store in Kissimmee in October and a month-long celebration honoring the event. During the first three Mondays in October, guests will have the opportunity for a 30-percent discount off menu pricing on all pizzas as part of National Pizza Month. Plus, Marco’s Pizza is gearing up for a 50-percent discount day on its pizzas October 26.
“Reaching this significant growth milestone is cause for celebration,” said Tony Libardi, president and chief operating officer of Marco’s Pizza. “As a people-first organization, we wanted to celebrate this achievement with those who have helped us throughout our journey.”
Marco’s Pizza will also award prizes and $1,000 surprise giveaways to team members as a way of showing its appreciation on what it has described as “an incredible journey.” Franchise partners Kattya Barbaran—a former store manager—and Rafi Vargas will open the 1000th store in Kissimmee, Fla. Vargas serves as a regional director for Marco’s Pizza and will now become an entrepreneur.
The opening of ghost kitchens in several strategic markets, ramping up third-party delivery and the testing of robotic kitchen innovations are developments that have fueled Marco’s Pizza’s growth amid a pandemic, noted executives.
“This is a very proud moment,” said Jack Butorac, chief executive of Marco’s Pizza.
