And Paget Alves named chair of Audit Committee
Yum Brands appointed Lauren Hobart to the Board of Directors effective November 12. Hobart currently serves as president of Dick’s Sporting Goods. The Louisville, Ky,-based parent company of Kentucky Fried Chicken, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, and The Habit Burger Grill also named Yum Brands Director Paget Alves chair of the Audit Committee, also effective November 12. The new Audit Committee chair succeeds Thomas C. Nelson, who will remain with the Board.
David Gibbs, Yum Brands chief executive, noted that Hobart has strong leadership skills and has demonstrated her business savvy in the digital transformation of Dick’s Sporting Goods and its e-commerce business. As president of the 727-unit retailer, she oversees the Stores, Marketing, eCommerce, Technology, HR, Legal, and Strategy & Analytics functions and teams. Hobart has held leadership roles in Marketing and Stores throughout her nine years with the retailer.
“We look forward to the insights and many contributions she will bring as we continue to position Yum! Brands as an even stronger global growth company for all our stakeholders,” said Brian Cornell, non-executive chairman of the Yum Brands Board and Target Corporation chief executive.
Prior to her career at Dick’s Sporting Goods, Hobart worked for PesiCo for 14 years and originally comes from the banking industry. Furthermore, Yum Brands announced Comcast Senior EVP and CFO Michael J. Cavanagh will retire from the Board, which he joined in 2012.
