The Habit Burger opens restaurant at Tela Toul Kork Station, Phnom Penh
Cambodian expansion comes on heels of eight openings in China
The Habit Burger Grill will open a new restaurant in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Tela Toul Kork Station is the latest international destination of the fast-casual, charbroiled burger chain. The Charburger will land in the heart of Cambodia’s capital thanks to a deal with franchise partner Kampuchea Tela Company, LTD.
To the north, China is home to eight Habit Burger Grill restaurants. The Yum Brands subsidiary has set its sights on Southeast Asia as the next overseas market for big expansion. With its new partner, executives plan to open additional stores throughout the Kingdom of Cambodia.
“We are excited to continue The Habit Burger Grill’s international expansion by joining forces with our new franchise partner Kampuchea Tela Company, LTD to open our first location in Cambodia,” said Iwona Alter, The Habit Burger Grill chief brand officer. “We look forward to creating new Habit fans by inviting them to enjoy our handcrafted chargrilled food delivered with best-in-class hospitality and in a welcoming Southern California environment.”
Customers in the new market will become familiar with the chain’s Charburger, prepared on an open-flame grill, with caramelized onions, pickles, tomato slices, lettuce, and mayo, served on a toasted bun. In addition to Charburgers, The Habit Burger offers sandwiches featuring marinated chicken, sushi-grade Ahi tuna and USDA Choice tri-tip steak.
