Taffer’s Tavern to debut with Metro Atlanta soft opening in late October

Franchise brand, inspired by Old World, with hygiene powered by advanced tech

Jon Taffer, the star of “Bar Rescue,” announced he will soft-open the Taffer’s Tavern franchise concept in late October in Alpharetta, Ga., just northwest of Atlanta. Additional locations will open in Boston and Washington, with more being added to the pipeline. Taffer’s years on “Bar Rescue” on the Paramount Network and consulting for restaurant, entertainment and hotel brands across the US have enabled his rise to renown as a hospitality expert.

Inspired by Old World taverns and conceptualized around the idea of the neighborhood bar, Taffer aims to create an inviting, warm and comfortable environment. Dark woods, soft leathers and copper accents will help set the tone for the dining experience.

A menu emphasizing comfort

The Taffer’s Tavern menu will put the spotlight on comfort: the 72-Hour Short Rib with a demi-glace sauce, served with mac and cheese, and the BLT (Belly, Lettuce, Tomato), featuring slow-cooked pork belly seasoned with sea salt, and topped with lettuce, tomato and a tomato aioli; and a Southern poutine dish of Tot Roast Fries, layered with shredded beef, mushroom béchamel sauce, are stomach-warming examples.

Bar Rescue Master Mixologist Phil Wills developed the curated cocktail menu. The Campfire, which is Taffer’s trademarked Brown Butter Rye Whiskey, bitters and simple syrup, and Berry-Impressive, which is a fruit-infused vodka layered with lemon, and then served with fresh mixed berries in a French Press, are two featured drinks. Taffer’s Tavern will also offer a robust selection of spirits, wines and beers.

A tavern built for COVID

Taffer’s concept was imaged before the COVID-19 health crisis, but with specialized technology for safeguarding customers, it may be just right for the times. Taffer’s Safe Dining System sets the stage for a formal approach to safety standards. Advanced technology will help with safety and hygiene measures, including hand-scanning detection technology to monitor all hand washing for contaminates, an advanced glass cleaning mechanism for all drinkware, and “reduced contact through department separation,” according to an announcement.

Taffer’s Tavern truly reimagines the modern restaurant, with an emphasis on comfort and trust that spans from the ambiance to the food, to the peace of mind that patrons will feel from our dedication to people’s safety,” said Taffer. His expertise has come through years of knowledge-sharing business ventures and consulting. Taffer has advised the NFL Network, Anheuser-Busch, Ritz-Carlton, TGI Fridays, Buffalo Wild Wings, Famous Dave’s Barbecue, Hyatt Hotels, and Marriott International.
