Denny’s launches Melts, Hot Bowls as winter approaches

Comfort dishes launched to heat up diner interest, sales

Denny’s launched a new Melts lineup and Bowls menu, banking on the popularity of comfort food. Denny’s Melts comprise hot, cheesy grilled sandwiches that come with wavy-cut fries. The Grand Slamwich—a play on the Denny’s classic Grand Slam breakfast—serves up scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, ham, and American cheese inside potato bread grilled with a maple spice spread.

An All-American Patty Melt also debuts at the Spartanburg, S.C. family-dining chain. It features an all-beef patty, with caramelized onions, a combination of Swiss & American cheeses and All-American sauce, on grilled potato bread. The Chick ‘N’ Shroom Melt features seasoned chicken breast, sautéed mushrooms, spinach, Swiss cheese, and mayo on grilled potato bread.

New Denny’s Bowls menu

With winter just around the corner, Denny’s also launched new, Hot Bowls:

  • Steakhouse Deluxe Bowl – Hearty grilled prime rib on top of red-skinned mashed potatoes, broccoli, pepper jack queso, cheddar cheese and diced bacon. The dish is served with dinner bread (Customers may substitute the seak for chicken tenders.)
  • Chicken Biscuit & Gravy Bowl – Two open-faced biscuits topped with golden-fried chicken tenders and country gravy, cheddar cheese and two eggs

“We hope that our new menu items—and the return of seasonal favorites—brings all the comforts of fall right into your own home, at a price that’s convenient and affordable,” said John Dillon, Denny’s chief brand officer.

As Thanksgiving approaches, Denny’s also brought back the Turkey & Dressing Dinner. The popular holiday dish features carved turkey breast with savory stuffing, served with turkey gravy and cranberry sauce. The Turkey & Dressing Dinner comes with two sides and dinner bread.
