During Veterans Day, restaurant chains offer free food, drink to military service members, veterans

Local heroes to be treated to free food, drink

Restaurant chains are extending special offers to military veterans and service personnel during Veterans Day 2020. As a show of appreciation for their service and to celebrate the day, LSR and FSR brands will treat customers to free food and drink. BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse, Torchy’s Tacos, Dunkin’, and Starbucks have activated sweet deals during the holiday.

Free food part of Veterans Day promotions

BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse will offer an entree, up to $14.95 in value, and a free Dr Pepper beverage. The Huntington Beach, Calif.-based casual-dining chain will extend free entrees, like the California Chicken Club or Mini Deep Dish Pizza, to customers with a Military ID that confirms current or former military service.

On Veterans Day, Torchy’s Tacos will offer a complimentary taco and non-alcoholic beverage to veterans and active US military members. The fast-casual chain will honor the special offer exclusively for dine-in and pick-up orders that are placed in-person or by phone only.

Local heroes will be able to select from any taco, including the Chicken Fajita, Beef Fajita and Trailer Park (fried chicken) tacos. The Trailer Park taco features fried chicken, green chiles, lettuce, pico de gallo, and cheddar jack cheese, with poblano sauce, on a flour tortilla. When Torchy’s Tacos customers order the taco “Trashy” they receive the taco without lettuce but with its popular queso.

A beverage will also be offered. Veterans and active US military members can enjoy the choice of either a free fountain Coca-Cola beverage, iced tea, or water.

Coffee chains honor veteran and active US military service members

Dunkin’ will treat active Military service members and veterans with a free donut on Veterans Day with no purchase necessary. In addition, it will partner with the non-profit A Million Thanks, which provides military service members with letters that thank them for their service. Furthermore, Dunkin’ will donate $10,000 to the organization to support their efforts.

And for each brewed coffee, Starbucks will donate 25 cents to Team Red, White & Blue and Headstrong to support mental health and well-being initiatives for military communities.
