Special offers on app during Tamaledays promote new additions
Del Taco launched a new line of Shredded Pork Tamales and introduced Tamaledays, Fiesta Packs and Family Friday Deals to bolster business during the holidays, available at participating stores November 19. Limited-time menu selections include the Cholula Smothered Tamales, Red and Green Smothered Tamales and Chili Cheese Smothered Tamales. Lake Forest, Calif.-based Del Taco also released Fiesta Packs and Family meals to provide its customers with options.
As part of a traditional recipe, Del Taco Tamales feature seasoned, shredded pork and fire-roasted salsa—surrounded by a layer of stone-ground corn masa—wrapped in a corn husk. Plus, as part of a campaign to share the love of the holiday season, the Mexican-style chain is surprising essential workers with free tamales every week in December, with the exception of Christmas Day.
“The holidays may look a little different this year, especially for essential employees working long hours and making personal sacrifices to support their communities,” said Tim Hackbardt, Del Taco chief marketing officer. “The Del Taco family is on a mission to lift spirits and spread a little Tamaleday cheer this season, one tamale at a time.”

Experts suggest that the holiday and winter seasons this year will see more LTOs and menu introductions from restaurant chains than usual. Chains aim to keep diners interested in dining and ordering pickup, drive-thru and delivery from restaurants, even as consumers hunker down amid a second wave of coronavirus and resulting restrictions.
