Piola USA expands with Hollywood, Miami Beach, Florida restaurant openings

Under construction, Piola Mid Beach will open spring 2021

The US division of Piola, a Treviso, Italy-based restaurant company, will expand its franchise to Miami Beach in April. The move follows Piola USA’s most recent opening in Hollywood, Fla. There, the Neapolitan-style pizza chain was well received, with free pizza and a grand opening celebration.

Artisanal pizzas (famosi per la pizza) are a highlight of the restaurant chain. Customers have been enthusiastic about the $7 Pizza Day. The 9-unit Piola USA chain has adjusted operations based on COVID-19, including modifying menus and adding specials.

Specialty pizzas include the Diavola, featuring tomato sauce, mozzarella and spicy salami, the Ortomisto, with tomato sauce, mozzarella, roasted, zucchini, sweet peppers, spinach, sauteed broccolini, asparagus and roasted cherry tomatoes, and the Rio de Janeiro, featuring tomato sauce, mozzarella, oven baked pulled chicken breast, catupiry cheese and a dash of parsley, among several options.

Pasta dishes, salads, entrees, and desserts complement the Neapolitan pizza offerings.

Piola USA has modified some menus, during the health crisis.

“We feel confident moving forward with our expansion plans,” said Stefano Carniato, Piola USA chief executive and co-founder. “Customers like hearing that we’re expanding.”

Piola USA is readying its Miami Beach location at the Hampton Inn Hotel on Collins Avenue. Piola Mid Beach, as it will be designated, will feature a fast-casual dining format. Both Hollywood and Mid-Miami Beach took a departure from the casual-dining service in effect in the rest of South Florida and Texas.

“We realized that customers’ needs have changed,” added Carniato. “They want the dine-experience, but they also want faster service.”
