Marco’s Pizza introduces Build-Your-Own Pizza Bowls
Line extension offers crustless customization to customers
Marco’s Pizza expanded its Pizza Bowls line with new Build-Your-Own Pizza Bowls. This follows the successful launch of Specialty Pizza Bowls last March. Customers will create their own crustless pizzas with the chain’s original sauce, signature cheeses and up to four toppings.
Custom toppings include Pepperoni, Steak, Ham, Bacon, Italian Sausage, Old World Pepperoni, Meatballs, and Grilled Chicken.
The Toledo, Ohio-based pizza chain’s Build-Your-Own Pizza Bowls aim to appeal to consumers seeking lower-carb, higher-protein options. The current line of Specialty Pizza Bowls features Deluxe, All Meat and Garden.
“Whether it’s our signature Old World Pepperoni, freshly sliced Roma tomatoes, or our high-quality Italian sausage, we’re providing a different, more customized way for pizza lovers and their families to experience our premium ingredients,” said Chris Tussing, Marco’s chief marketing officer.
New TV advertising starting this week will support the launch of Marco’s Build-Your-Own Pizza Bowls.
Andy Dismore, senior director of Culinary Innovation, suggests Marco’s Pizza is on trend with its new offerings. The chain has bolstered the Pizza Bowls lineup because trend-tracking is “part of its DNA,” said Dismore, adding that the carb-cutting selections were a bold move.
