Spicy Chicken McNuggets return to McDonald’s in February
Mighty hot sauce will also be featured
Spicy Chicken McNuggets return to McDonald’s this winter. The limited-time treats, coated with a sizzling tempura breading with cayenne and chili peppers, have been a fan sensation since they first came out in September.
The Chicago-based QSR chain is bringing them back to stores nationwide February 1.
Along with the Spicy Chicken McNuggets, the Mighty Hot Sauce will be featured. The first new sauce since 2017 is made with crushed red pepper and cayenne peppers, topped off with garlic, and sweetness.
From February 2 to 6, customers can order the nuggets limited-time offer (LTO) on DoorDash, and with every order of $20 or more, land a free order of 6-piece Spicy Chicken Nuggets.
Since the 1983 debut, McDonald’s Chicken McNuggets have seen some change, mostly in the addition of new sauces, including Tangy Barbeque, Honey Mustard and eventually, the new Mighty Hot Sauce, but did really evolve until last year’s spicy version debut. The dipping sauces did become free of artificial preservatives, colors and flavors in 2016.
