Dunkin’ returns Pink Velvet Macchiato, Cupid’s Choice Donut, readies drive-thru weddings

Wedding pop-up shop, contest celebrate Dunkin’ + marriages

Dunkin’ brought back its Pink Velvet Macchiato and Mocha Macchiato drinks, heart-shaped donuts and specialty donuts to celebrate Valentine’s season. The Inspire Brands coffee concept also launched a contest for couples falling for drive-thru weddings as it plans an online wedding gear shop.

The Pink Velvet Macchiato mimics the taste of biting into a red velvet cupcake. Each velvety drink combines espresso with red velvet cake flavor and a touch of cream cheese icing notes.

The Dunkin’ Mocha Macchiato combines espresso with deep chocolate flavors, according to an announcement. On ice, the featured drink comes artistically layered, meant to appeal to social media mavens.

Dunkin’ Valentine’s Day donuts

Heart-shaped donuts include the Brownie Batter Donut filled with a chocolatey brownie batter-flavored buttercreme filling. This specialty donut comes topped with vanilla flavored icing and chocolate sprinkles. Another treat in the spotlight is the Cupid’s Choice Donut filled with Bavarian Kreme and topped with strawberry-flavored icing and pink sprinkles.

“Dunkin’ is the perfect place for anyone to find the spirit of Valentine’s Day,” said Jill Nelson, VP, Marketing & Culinary at Dunkin’. ‘With our gorgeous Pink Velvet and Mocha Macchiatos, joined together with our beloved heart-shaped donuts, we’re making it easy to treat yourself and bring a little love and sweetness to any way you choose to celebrate.”

Launch of contest for couples seeking to tie knot in drive-thru

The 12,600-unit coffee chain also aims to celebrate its fans’ appreciation of the shop as a place to say “I do.” An example of the ties between Dunkin’ and weddings is reflected in a general manager of one of its stores in Oklahoma City getting married at the Dunkin’ drive-thru where she and her husband first met.

First, a new wedding-themed online pop-up shop arrives February 11.

Then, through a partnership in New York with I Do Drive Thru, a contest celebrating weddings is off the ground. Winners of the contest get a chance to have their weddings performed at a New York location by the I Do Drive Thru organization, an international drive-up wedding service formed to help people get married in a fun and safe way during the pandemic,.

Fans over the age of 18 in the state of New York should submit a photo on Instagram with a caption stating why they want to get married in a Dunkin’ drive-thru between January 27 and January 30 using the hashtag #DunkinIDoContest. Dunkin’ will select the winner by February 2.

Winners will be able to have their drive-thru weddings performed at the Town of Wallkill, New York at 350 Route 211 East, Middletown, New York. Valentine’s Day weekend, appropriately, will mark the start of the contest winners’ drive-thru weddings, beginning on the afternoon of February 12 at the Wallkill store.

There will be plenty of celebratory moments on that day, including festive décor and picture perfect photo moments. In addition, each couple will receive special wedding gifts from Dunkin’, including a gift basket of Dunkin’ wedding gear and accessories, professional photos from the big day, and a $500 cash prize.

While the main event is reserved for the contest winners, Dunkin’ also announced that other couples can also visit this location between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. for a drive-thru vow renewal or commitment ceremony conducted by I Do Drive Thru. More information is available at ddsweeps.com.
