Church’s Chicken introduces Texas Tenders, promotes meal deal with Crispy Shrimp

Another promotion offers fashionista fans chance to win fanny pack

Church’s Chicken launched Texas Tenders, a new menu addition and its first foray into boneless chicken. The new tenders are prepared in a buttermilk marinate, then hand-breaded with a proprietary blend of seasonings. These tenders come with a Smoky Honey-Q dipping sauce—a combination of BBQ and honey mustard—with a slight touch of “sweet, heat and smoke,” according to an announcement.

Church’s Texas Tenders will pair up with shrimp in a limited-time Texas Tenders ‘N Shrimp meal. The Atlanta, Ga.-based chicken QSR is using the meal to promote the new tenders. For $5, customers will receive a combo of four Crispy Shrimp, fries, the chain’s popular Honey-Butter Biscuit, and cocktail sauce.

“With the new Texas Tenders ‘N Shrimp meal, we’re combining two menu items packed with the flavors our fans crave,” said Brian Gies, Church’s chief marketing officer. “You can taste the punched-up flavor in every bite of these Texas Tenders and Crispy Butterfly Shrimp, delivering an authentic taste of down-home cooking.”

The 1,500-unit chain is also promoting the new tenders with a fashion look-book celebrating all things Tenders and Shrimp. What’s more, a social media campaign will enable fans who follow Church’s Chicken on social media to get a chance to win a limited-edition Church’s fanny pack. It comes insulated and is meant to help carry around the Texas Tenders ‘N Shrimp meal around.
