Steakhouse chain heads to Oak Brook, opening by end of 2021
Churrascaria-style steakhouse chain Fogo de Chão signed a lease to open at Oat Brook Commons in a western suburb of Chicago, Illinois by the end of the year. Developer Hines just broke ground on the brand new development in Oak Brook, just 20 miles from Chicago.
Oak Brook Commons will include office space, retail and luxury residential residences just steps from the Oak Brook Center, a fashion destination with retail outlets, a 16-screen movie theater and an expansive food hall.
In partnership with design agency Harrison, the Brazilian steakhouse chain will install grand elements and natural wood finishes. Setting a high-end tone, eye-catching chandeliers and a vaulted ceiling form a major part of the dining room design. The steakhouse will feature a large patio area. Dry-aged meat cases, a bar area and bold couches will provide for extending dining experiences.
“We look forward to bringing our expertise in butchery and Brazilian hospitality to the community of Oak Brook in 2021,” said Barry McGowan, chief executive officer of Fogo de Chão.
The fourth Chicago-area Fogo de Chão will feature its churrasco dining with meats brought to the table by gauchos. In addition, guests will have a choice of new menu offerings, including Wagyu New York Strip and half priced bottles of South American wine. The bar will offer a whiskey and bourbon menu that includes craft cocktails.

The Oak Brook Fogo de Chão will be located on the Commons side of Spring Street, in a prominent and well-traversed location. The $500M Oak Brook Commons development is less than 30 minutes from Chicago by car. This opening follows openings in Naperville, Rosemont and the River North neighborhood of Chicago.
A recently-launched carryout and delivery program will provide off-premises options for diners living, work and visiting in the area.
