Kitchen United brings multi-restaurant ordering MIX platform to Westfield Valley Fair
Through MIX and logistics technology, shopping center to speed orders to delivery drivers, customer pickup lockers
Kitchen United is bringing its MIX ordering capabilities to the Westfield Valley Fair shopping destination in Northern California. MIX, which enables multi-concept ordering on one guest ticket, has arrived in the shopping center format. The move follows a second full MIX location opening in Chicago’s The Loop Neighborhood.
Restaurant operators and landlords are looking for solutions that can diversify and increase orders during the pandemic, at a time when restaurants may face restrictions and consumers may be less willing to venture out of the home.
Atul Sood, chief business officer of Kitchen United, commented, “We have applied our learnings from successfully operating our kitchen centers across the country to offer hardware and technology solutions that can be used by a myriad of business models to deliver an exceptional to-go food experience.”
MIX will provide local customers and visitors with the ability to order from multiple restaurants on one guest check. In addition to MIX, Kitchen United will offer logistics and order fulfillment tools to enable pickup orders from lockers and a conveyor belt to carry food from the second level of Westfield Valley Fair to the first floor where delivery drivers can retrieve their orders.
The conveyor belt is vertical and state of the art, according to a Kitchen United announcement.
“With the flexibility to place one order with multiple restaurants simultaneously, regardless of location, restaurants have the ability to capitalize on the demand for food to-go, while our guests receive a customized dining experience,” said Kate Diefenderfer, Marketing director forSanta Clara-based Westfield Valley Fair.
Kitchen United will activate ordering from Westfield Valley Fair restaurants Koja Kitchen, Pizza My Heart, Big Fish Little Fish, Men Oh Ramen, Haagen Dazs, and others on the MIX website. Customers can also order on the Westfield app, created by mall operator Westfield.
