Wendy’s adds Jalapeño Popper Chicken Sandwich, Salad to menu
Grubhub free chicken sandwich offer to help promote launch
Wendy’s rolled out a Jalapeño Popper Chicken Sandwich and Salad nationwide. The unveiling of these new items bring heat and cheesy to the flavor landscape of the chicken sandwich wars. These additions to the menu follow the announcement of a chicken sandwich from Burger King and a new Cuban-style chicken sandwich from Pollo Tropical.
Spicy-, cheesy-centric menu additions
Wendy’s restaurants prepare the sandwich with the chain’s spicy chicken fillet, cream jalapeño cream cheese and six slices of jalapenos, topped with three Applewood smoked bacon strips, cheddar cheese and shredded pepper jack cheese, served in a warm, toasted bun.
“The new Jalapeño Popper Chicken Sandwich and Salad bring Wendy’s fans a bold, innovative flavor they can’t get anywhere else,” said John Li, vice president of Culinary Innovation for The Wendy’s Company. “Each bite is graced by the perfect balance of creamy, cheesy goodness and a crispy crunch, topped with an unbeatable kick from the jalapeños that will have your taste buds thanking us.”
The Jalapeño Popper Chicken Salad is served on a blend of romaine and spring mix lettuce blend, with diced tomatoes, crispy jalapeño and cheddar croutons. Wendy’s tops the new salad with a creamy jalapeño ranch dressing.
Carl Loredo, chief marketing officer for The Wendy’s Company, added, “Our new Jalapeño Popper Chicken Sandwich casts a big shadow across the competition and really delivers an enhanced chicken sandwich experience. The innovation on flavor is unlike anything else out there.”
