Four value-added varieties added to menu, including catering options
El Pollo Loco launched a new collection of Loco Lunch Boxes, looking to heat up the daypart for customers and for itself. The 480-unit L.A. Mex chain offers the new selections in four varieties: Chicken Guacamole Burrito, Baja Shrimp Tacos, Chicken Avocado Gordita, and Cheesy Chicken Quesadilla.
All lunch boxes include a side of beans and rice, chips, salsa, and a churro for dessert.
Loco Lunch Boxes menu
Citrus-marinated, fire-grilled chicken, guacamole, pinto beans, shredded cabbage, and sour cream make up the Chicken Guacamole Burrito. The ingredients are wrapped in flour tortilla and topped with queso fresco and housemade pico de gallo.
Baja Shrimp Tacos comprise two tacos made with corn and flour blend tortillas, filled with shrimp in a chipotle and garlic marinade, and then topped with shredded cabbage, housemade pico de gallo and Baja chipotle sauce.
The Chicken Avocado Gordita features pieces of citrus-marinated, fire-grilled chicken, wrapped in grilled flatbread with a shredded lettuce blend, and avocado slices. It’s finished off with Baja chipotle sauce and topped with queso fresco and housemade pico de gallo
El Pollo Loco’s Cheesy Chicken Quesadilla consists of pieces of citrus-marinated, fire-grilled chicken melted between a flour tortilla with shredded Monterey jack cheese and housemade pico de gallo, served with a side of fresh handmade guacamole.
Promotion, TV ad spot
“To inject some joy back into lunchtime and give people delicious and convenient to-go options that replace disappointing leftovers and inspire them to love lunch again, we created satisfying meals that come in a fun, portable container,” said Bernard Acoca, El Pollo Loco president and chief executive.
El Pollo Loco launched a TV spot to promote the Loco Lunch Boxes, also featured on YouTube.
Catering customers can order the boxes in packs of six, eight and 12.
