High Five-Meat Pizza recipe also reformulated
Pie Five Pizza introduced a reimagined version of its pan crust pizza, Craft Panzano. Customers will be able to enjoy the new crust option with any pizza selection; the 200-unit fast casual recently updated all pizza recipes to better complement the new crust.
Pie Five’s High Five-Meat choice, as an example, now comes packed with more bacon, beef and sausage, as part of the reformulation.
Made with housemade dough, the Craft Panzano Pan Pizza crust pairs well with Pie Five’s Tuscan marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese and additional premium toppings. Executives at Pie Five expect the new crust, which is finished off with a buttery blend of Parmesan and Romano cheeses and Italian seasoning, to be perceived as a highly-differentiated menu item.

“Not many fast-casual pizza brands have the ovens to offer something like this,” said Pie Five Director, Adam Schmidt. “Our competitors may try to emulate this, but they won’t achieve such a crispy exterior and fluffy center.”
The Craft Panzano Pan Pizza, available in personal and large (family-size), bolsters the crust choices at Dallas-based Pie Five, which include the Crispy Artisan Thin and Traditional Italian, as well as also offering cauliflower and gluten-free options.
Patty Scheibmeir, lead of R&D and Culinary Innovation for Rave Restaurant Group, Pie Five’s parent, added “…we are proud to debut the ultimate pan pizza crust that is unlike any others on the market. We are confident those who have loved pan pizza for years will enjoy the Panzano and consider it the new standard of pan crusts.”
