Bonchon adds Sweet Red Chili sauce to menu

New sauce adds ‘sweet heat’ to chain’s Korean fried chicken selections

Bonchon rolled a new Sweet Red Chili sauce offering for a limited time. The new sauce comes from a new Dallas test kitchen. To complement the chain’s fried chicken, the dressing features chili garlic sauce, soy sauce and a touch of sugar to give it “sweet heat,” according to an announcement.

As part of the development of its new “sweet heat,” customers, team members and franchise partners were able to provide feedback and helped to create it, noted Flynn Decker, Bonchon chief executive.

He added, “The culmination is a sauce with the perfect amount of kick appealing to many of our loyal guests who have been looking for a new sauce that balances sweet and heat. We think our guests will really enjoy Sweet Red Chili – and it might result in a permanent menu offering.”

The Sweet Red Chili sauce is part of Bonchon’s ongoing menu innovation, which in June 2020, helped debut Cucumber Wasabi Ranch dipping sauce. Soy Garlic sauce remains on the menu.

Available until June 13, 2021, the Bonchon Sweet Red Chili Sauce is available to customers when ordering the concept’s fried chicken dishes, like Bonchon’s signature wings, drumsticks, strips and boneless wings.
