Dark-kitchen platform helps bring proven concepts to franchise operators with excess capacity
Saladworks and sister brand Frutta Bowls have partnered with Combo Kitchen to provide a multi-concept, ghost-kitchen franchising platform. Saladworks’ partnership with Combo Kitchen led to a Saladworks launching in Miami, Fla. earlier this month. Additional outlets opened last week in New York City and Jersey City, N.J.
Combo Kitchen franchising leverages dark kitchen space
Combo Kitchen allows franchisees to use underutilized kitchen capacity to serve food from well-known brands, as in the case with Saladworks and Frutta Bowls. Franchisees can maintain or reduce expenses while adding revenue from these concepts.
Already, Combo Kitchen has signed 14 dark-kitchen locations. Initial projections call for 5 to 7 new units to be added to the development pipeline on a monthly basis during the balance of this year.
Hossein Kasma, Combo Kitchen chief executive noted that Combo Kitchen takes care of franchise sales, collecting royalties and operational endeavors, allowing proven concepts to grow within the franchising platform.
He added, “Restaurant operators boost their revenue with the incorporation of a recognized and established brand, while consumers can take advantage of new flavors being brought to their area. We continue to enjoy working with the Saladworks and Frutta Bowls team to redefine the norm for the restaurant industry.”
Saladworks grows in non-traditional venues
Saladworks has opened several location in the past year, and 32 out of 40 of those units have been located in non-traditional venues, including ghost-kitchen and retail locations, to name a few formats.
WOWorks is the parent of Saladworks, which also operates and franchises the Frutta Bowls, Garbanzo Mediterranean Fresh and The Simple Greek concepts.
