Torchy’s Tacos returns Tokyo Drifter as May Taco of Month

Raspberry Meltdown margarita featured as suggested pairing

Torchy’s Tacos has returned the Tokyo Drifter as May Taco of the Month. The Texan chain is also spotlighting the Raspberry Meltdown—its May margarita. Served up frozen or on the rocks, the Raspberry Meltdown is the suggested pairing with the Taco of the Month.

The Tokyo Drifter starts with glazed pulled pork, which is then topped with fried wonton strips, sweet & sour veggie slaw, sesame Sriracha mayo and cilantro, served with a lime wedge on a flour tortilla.

“This taco’s loaded up with tender, teriyaki glazed pulled pork and topped with a fresh and tangy sweet & sour veggie slaw and cilantro,” said Mike Rypka, founder of Torchy’s Tacos. “Add some Sriracha mayo heat and the crunch of crispy wontons, and it’s no surprise the Tokyo Drifter has come to be a number one fan-favorite for many of our taco junkies.”

Torchy’s Tacos restaurants prepare the Raspberry Meltdown with 100-percent agave tequila and top the beverage with a float of Razzmatazz Raspberry Liqueur. The fast casual offers the cocktail in small and large, for $8 and $11, respectively.

The Austin, Texas chain’s charitable partners, including the Make a Wish Foundation, MD Anderson and Phoenix House, will benefit from a portion of the proceeds from May Taco of the Month sales. The Tokyo Drifter will be available until May 31, 2021.
