Texas de Brazil opens at The Veranda in Concord, California

Brazilian-American churrasco-style chain expands in California with fifth location there

Texas de Brazil opened a new restaurant in Concord, California at The Veranda, an upscale shopping and dining center. Bringing the presentation and experience of churrasco-style dining to the East Bay area, the Dallas-based chain continues to expand in the Golden State with its fifth restaurant there.

The buildout is spacious and features refined appointments, including a salad-station area made of white marble. The Veranda Texas de Brazil also boasts a wine cellar, in which customers can browse wine selections, as well as an expansive patio for al-fresco dining and private events.

“Texas de Brazil’s authentic approach for delivering the cuisine of Southern Brazil has flourished around the world and we’re excited to open our doors to the residents and visitors of Contra Costa County,” said Salim Asrawi, president of Texas de Brazil.

The Brazilian-American steakhouse brand provides rodizio-style dining, a tradition in which restaurant gauchos bring fire-roasted meats to the table. Diners start their evening at the salad bar for hot and cold selections to accompany their protein-rich meals.

  • artisan breads
  • imported cheeses
  • grilled vegetables
  • Brazilian hearts of palm
  • spicy shrimp salad
  • couscous pasta
  • sautéed mushrooms
  • feijoada (black beans)
  • jasmine rice
  • lobster bisque + more

Churrasco menu

Texas de Brazil will offer beef, lamb, pork, chicken, and Brazilian sausage choices, carved at the table, which may include the following:

  • filet mignon
  • barbecued pork ribs
  • leg of lamb
  • parmesan drumettes
  • picanha

Drinks and operating hours

Drink choices are plentiful from the full cocktail bar menu, including a variety of flavor selections of Caipirinha. Texas de Brazil features its own private-label varietals from Chile, while also adding varietals from California and South America on its curated wine list. The Veranda location also sports an intimate lounge.

The Texas de Brazil restaurant will operate from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday to Thursday; 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m on Friday; 4 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday; and 4 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Sunday.

In California, the polished, casual-dining chain currently boasts locations in the Carlsbad, Fresno, Irvine, and Oxnard markets.
