Habit Burger Grill opens in Olympic in Phnom Penh, Cambodia

Fourth restaurant in Cambodia’s capital demonstrates rapid expansion in Southeast Asian country

The Habit Burger Grill continues to expand in Cambodia with the opening in Olympic, today, May 14—its fourth location in Phnom Penh. The rapid expansion in the Southeast Asian city shows the strength of the relationship with development partner Kampuchea Tela Company, LTD.

The Habit Burger Grill—a fast-casual subsidiary concept of Yum Brands—is known for its Charburger. Restaurants prepare the full-on ground beef patty chargrilled over an open flame for a distinctive smoky flavor.

The Irvine, Calif.-based burger chain also offers sandwiches that feature marinated chicken, sushi-grade Ahi tuna and USDA Choice tri-tip steaks, along with sides and frozen treats.

“It is an honor to open our fourth Habit restaurant location in Cambodia in partnership with Kampuchea Tela Company, LTD,” said Iwona Alter, chief brand officer at The Habit Burger Grill. “We look forward to serving the Phnom Penh community handcrafted, chargrilled food with California-fresh flavor, delivered with best-in-class hospitality.”

The Habit Burger, which dates back to 1969, had previously opened in Ang Snuol District, Techno Sky Bridge and Tela Toul Kork Station in Phnom Penh prior to this new Olympic restaurant opening. It also has a presence in Cambodia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam through licensing and franchising.
