Carl’s Jr., Hardee’s roll out Hand-Breaded Chicken Sandwich, Chicken + Waffle Breakfast Sandwich

Hand-Breaded Chicken Biscuit arrives exclusively at Hardee’s locations

Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s rolled out a new Hand-Breaded Chicken Sandwich and Hand-Breaded Chicken & Waffle Breakfast Sandwich. And Hardee’s launched a Hand-Breaded Chicken Biscuit, featuring crispy-fried, breaded, all-white meat chicken.

The Hand-Breaded Chicken Sandwich is an upgraded version of the classic, featuring all-white meat chicken, breaded and fried crispy, with mayonnaise and deli pickles. The Hand-Breaded Chicken & Waffle Breakfast Sandwich is a twist on a morning favorite. The restaurants top all-white meat chicken with Maple Butter Glaze and serve it between Belgian waffle buns.

Owen Klein, vice president of global culinary innovation at CKE Restaurants, parent of Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s, commented, “We’re hand-breading around the clock to deliver the flavor profiles that are truly craveable and will be something people will want—and can get—all day long.”

With these new sandwiches, Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s use a six-step breading process, according to CKE, in addition to enhancing the flavor profile with 13 spices and Southern-style flour.

Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s will bolster the Hand-Breaded Chicken launch with a full-on marketing campaign. This will include OnlyFans on Hot & Hand-Breaded, with tongue-and-cheek content, which will lean into trending autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR) and Mukbang culture. In addition, it will publish on Vice’s Munchies platform adding to its presence on digital channels.
