First Watch to open Shops at Kildeer restaurant, north of Chicago

New restaurant, representing evolution of brand, offers flexible outdoor seating, full bar

First Watch, a breakfast-and-brunch concept, plans to open a new restaurant in Kildeer in June, expanding its Chicago presence. The new unit spans 5,605 square feet and will be unveiled in the Shops at Kildeer lifestyle destination. This follows the opening in Oak Brook, First Watch’s Chicagoland debut.

As part of the brand’s evolution, the Kildeer First Watch offers a bright outdoor dining space and bar, providing for expanded dining as the temperatures turn warm. The outdoor section can also be used for indoor seating during the winter months and when the weather turns sour.

In addition, the new eatery is designed with a dedicated entrance and cookline for to-go meals as First Watch continues to accommodate increased carryout and delivery business.

“Since opening our doors in Oak Brook a few short months ago, the Chicagoland community has welcomed First Watch with open arms, and we couldn’t be more grateful to be opening just up the road in Kildeer,” said Chris Tomasso, First Watch president and chief executive. “The Windy City has been a place that, as an organization, we have been itching to be a part of for years. The Village of Kildeer is a bit of an oasis near the busy city, and we are so excited to bring our fresh take on brunch to this beautiful area.”

The Kildeer First Watch will offer a dedicated entrance and cookline to accommodate the growing demand among consumers for off-premises dining options.

Elote Mexican Street Corn Hash, Barbacoa Breakfast Tacos, Bananas Foster French Toast are seasonal dishes that will rotate. There will also be a featured, fresh-pressed juice called the Watermelon Wake-Up when the restaurant opens June 7.

With a complement of fresh juices, coffee and beverages, executives expect the bar to be popular and several creative cocktails to flow. A featured adult beverage—Cinnamon Toast Cereal Milk made with coconut rum, cold brew coffee, coconut milk and agave nectar—exemplifies what customers are likely to see.
