Bourbon Black Pepper Smokehouse Chicken returns to Church’s Chicken restaurants nationwide
Audio file provides customers with sensory preview of limited-time, Texas-sized dish
Church’s Chicken brought back the Bourbon Black Pepper Smokehouse Chicken. The limited-time dish starts with a bone-in half chicken that is marinated in a savory, smoky seasoning. Church’s restaurants then deep fry the half chicken portion size, which has no batter or breading, and glaze it with a sweet, smoky, bourbon sauce and top it with fresh, cracked, black pepper.
The original launch of the Smokehouse dish took place in 2019
“The unique flavor profile of the Bourbon Black Pepper sauce took years to perfect, including exploration of foods and flavors throughout our home state of Texas,” said Brian Gies, chief marketing officer for Church’s Chicken. “We love that our guests keep coming back for the big, bold Texas-inspired flavors of our signature glaze that offers the perfect combination of savory and smoky notes.”

A summer dessert arrives at stores nationwide in the form of The Texas Sheet Cake: gooey chocolate cake topped with sweet chocolate frosting. The Smokehouse dish and Texas Sheet Cakes will be available through August 29.
In addition, Church’s Chicken is promoting the new sandwich with a “guided, auto tasting” to help customers savor the experience at www.churchs.com/guided-tasting.
