Casual-dining chain targeting Hong Kong, South Korea, Singapore, Japan, Malaysia for growth
California Pizza Kitchen (CPK) opened a new restaurant in Tuen Mun Town Plaza, Hong Kong with partner Chun Fat Enterprise Limited. The grand opening in Hong Kong’s Northwest New Territories, is part of an expansion in the region. CPK plans to have four locations operating in the country by 2022 with partner Chun Fat Enterprise.
Executives of the Los Angeles-based pizza chain have targeted Hong Kong, South Korea, Singapore, Japan, and Malaysia as part of new unit development plans.
The new eatery is designed in a manner to reflect the California brand’s origins. Sunny tones, wood decor accents and large windows create a relaxed, casual ambiance, and the windows help provide a generous amount of natural light.
The CPK restaurant’s hearth pizza oven and open kitchen layout are also signature elements that the pizza chain expects will create a desirable destination for hungry mall-goers. The Tuen Mun Town Plaza CPK is located in is the largest mall in the Northwest New Territories.
“We are thrilled to expand our CPK Hong Kong presence with CS Lee and the Chun Fat team,” said Giorgio Minardi, EVP, Global Development & Franchise Operations at CPK.

He added, “We have strong momentum in our business and Hong Kong is a critical priority for our long term growth plans. We look forward to bringing ‘California Creativity’ and our diverse menu to local guests in this beautiful new restaurant in the Tuen Mun Town Plaza.”
Featured menu offerings will include guests favorites, including BBQ Chicken Pizza, Cali Club Pizza, BBQ Chicken Salad, and Cedar Plank Salmon.
“We’re excited to expand our relationship with CPK to bring its creative California-inspired cuisine to the local community,” said CS Lee, managing director of Chun Fat Enterprise Limited.
