Subway Eat Fresh Refresh arrives with new sandwiches, upgraded ingredients

Menu revamp adds Turkey Cali Fresh, Steak Cali Fresh and All-American Club sandwiches

Subway Restaurants launched a revamp of the menu—its Eat Fresh Refresh—adding new ingredients and sandwiches, including the Turkey Cali Fresh, Steak Cali Fresh and All-American Club, available July 13, 2021. To prepare for the Eat Fresh Refresh debut, tens of thousands of the chain’s outlets will close at 6 p.m. local time to provide training for team members, make changes to the prep line and implement design enhancements.

The Milford, Conn.-based sandwich chain will also introduce two new fresh-baked breads, Artisan Italian and Hearty Multigrain. Subway says it worked with bakers to develop the “perfect new bread recipes.”

On July 13, guests will have a chance to win a free Turkey Cali Fresh sandwich if they are one of the first 50 customers after stores reopen (between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m.)

Subway culinary, digital upgrades

“Subway has been serving freshly made, customizable and better-for-you sandwiches for more than 50 years, and we wanted to give our guests more new and improved flavors,” said Trevor Haynes, president, North America at Subway. “Our new culinary team is delivering monumental updates to the entire core menu. The Eat Fresh Refresh makes Subway better than ever with freshly made, craveable and delicious sandwiches to excite new and returning guests.”

Digital enhancements are also part of the changes. The Subway App will come with a new dashboard, improved ordering flow and tracking of out-of-stock items. The quick-service chain will flow similar changes into subway.com, providing seamless access to new and refreshed menu items. Subway will deploy additional changes in the fall.
